Community Information
Addison is located west of the Metropolitan Chicago area, Dupage County, Illinois, USA. According to 2002 census, the population is 37,378. The community itself was named after 18th century writer Joseph Addison.
- The Addison Industrial District was the proposed location for the reconstruction of Comisky Park before it was voted down.
- Adventure Land amusement park was located in Addison during the 1960s and 1970s.
- Addison is a diversified community. 28.4% of the population are hispanics.
- The Addison Historical Society dates back to March 7, 1974, The purpose of the organization, is to bring together those people interested in history, especially in the history of Addison, and is dedicated to promoting the understanding of that history.
