IT Services Clerk

Part-time, non-exempt

Hours: 17/week on average; includes a combination of daytime, evening and weekend hours. Must be able to work on every Wednesday from 1-9, every other weekend (Saturday 9-5 and Sunday 1-5), plus every other Tuesday from 9-5.

Salary: $14.37 - $21.55/hr; $17.96 is the midpoint of the salary range and reserved for candidates who exceed the minimum qualifications and have significant, direct experience.

Position Details:

Are you a customer-service oriented and tech-savvy person? Do you enjoy working in a team environment serving a diverse community? We're looking for a part-time IT Services Clerk to provide assistance and training to patrons using computers and other library equipment as well as software applications.

What you need to be successful:

  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with public and staff.
  • Patience! We help patrons of all ages, at all knowledge levels, many of whom have limited technology or English language skills.
  • Familiarity with Windows and Mac computers, web searching and emailing, Microsoft Office and Google Apps, Apple and Android tablets/smartphones, WiFi connection, printing, scanning, and photocopying.
  • Ability to perform basic troubleshooting.
  • Ability to set priorities, make independent decisions, and exercise discretion with patrons and staff.

Qualifications:

Business Services Specialist

Full Time, Non-Exempt

Hours: 37.5/wk; Evening and weekend hours as required.

Salary:

For applicants with an MLS: $20.19 - $30.29/per hour DOQ; $25.24 is the midpoint of the salary range and reserved for candidates who exceed the minimum qualifications and have significant, direct experience.

For applicants without an MLS: $17.03 - $25.55/per hour DOQ; $21.29 is the midpoint of the salary range and reserved for candidates who exceed the minimum qualifications and have significant, direct experience.

Position Details:

The Addison Public Library is seeking a skilled librarian who can foster relationships with local businesses, job seekers, and entrepreneurs; connecting them with library resources and supporting the library’s mission through innovative and relevant programming that meets the needs and interests of this segment of our community. You’ll also have the opportunity to work on special projects and participate on library-wide committees.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Calling on local business to highlight library resources and explain what the library has to offer them.
  • Providing classes and programs on job searching, business databases, and other relevant topics.
  • Attending meetings with the local Chamber of Commerce, municipal authorities, business decision makers, and nonprofit organizations.
  • Participating in outreach events that will enhance the library’s relationship with and services to the local business community.

Qualifications:

Education: MLS from an ALA-accredited institution preferred. Relevant  experience and a bachelor’s degree or enrollment in an ALA-accredited library science graduate program may be considered in lieu of MLS.

Required to work evening and weekend hours.
