Online Job Search Resources @ Your Library
July 29, 2010
Online job search help is available with your Addison Public Library card. One database is Live Homework Help. It seems an unlikely source for information about jobs, but you might want to give it a try, especially if you would like an expert to review you resume and cover letter.
To find Live Homework Help, begin with Databases under the Online Resources tab or the Jobs & Career page.
Live Homework Help gives you several selections. Choose Adult Career Center.
- From 2 pm to 9 pm each day, you can begin a dialog with a tutor or career coach, who will answer questions about resumes, cover letters, interviews, and more. You indicate how much help you need.
- Available all the time is the SkillsCenter. Select Adult Services as your Topic. Among the Subjects available are Computer Literacy, Job Openings, Job Resources, Resumes and Cover Letters. Once your subject is selected, you choose from several Subtopics.
The Adult Career Center offers only the SkillsCenter when the tutors are not online. Check it out.
Both the Jobs & Career and Job Club pages offer additional places to find information. Plus, Adult Services staff members will help you find materials. The library has lots of books!
Online databases are available to computer users in the library. From a computer outside the building, you need your Addison Public Library card number and your PIN.
