Artists of the Month: Lutherbrook Art Therapy Students
March 13, 2012
Art works from art therapy students at Lutherbrook Child and Adolescent Center and Lutherbrook Academy are featured this month. Several of the works are three-dimensional. Take a moment to appreciate the talents of these students.

Lutherbrook Child and Adolescent Center is a specialized residential center for children and adolescents with severe emotional and behavioral difficulties. The campus, located in Addison, currently serves 52 school-age children and youth.
Lutherbrook Academy is a therapeutic day school located on the grounds of Lutherbrook Child and Adolescent Center. A therapeutic day school is a school designed to give individualized, integrated academic and clinical programs for children with severe disabilities. Lutherbrook Academy is designed to serve children kindergarten through high school (ages 5 through 21) who have severe learning disabilities (LD), behavior disorders (BD), social/emotional disabilities (SED) and high functioning mentally impaired children who are also LD, BD or SED
Lutherbrook provides expressive arts therapies by specially trained art therapists. Expressive art therapy, which includes Art Therapy, helps children express and deal with their feelings and experiences. Lutherbrook artists have received prizes for their artwork from organizations including the Child Care Association of Illinois and the Child Welfare League of America.
This exhibit is located on the 2nd floor across from the elevator. Take a few moments to enjoy the students' works.
