Artist of the Month: June Feil

October 09, 2012

June Feil

This month, the work of Addison's own June Feil graces our second floor Art Wall. June leads the Addison Art Guild--the talented group that supplies most of the art showcased on our wall. For more information on June Feil, please click below. Also, be sure to check out the display case to the right of the Art Wall. Our own artist-in-residence, Hannah Palma Laky, has loaned us some soda-fired pottery to put on display.

June has generously loaned us some of her paintings to display throughout October. Some have been photographed and pictured below. If you're interested in purchasing any of this artwork from June, contact her at jbfeil@yahoo.com.

June has this to say about herself:

"I live in Addison and my husband and I raised our children here. I worked for years in the business and aviation industries.  Also for 30 years I played violin with the Elmhurst Symphony Orchestra.

"When I retired I decided it was time to do something that I never got to do while I was working. I took classes in watercolor painting. It opened up a whole new world, it was challenging and really rewarding.

"I hope everyone will be as lucky as me and get that chance to do something they always wanted to do when they retire."
