APL Wins LEGO's "Read! Build! Play!" Contest

Thank you to all who voted for our library in the LEGO Duplo Read! Build! Play! contest. After a month, we finished in 18th place out of the top 200 libraries in the United States. Our prizes came today and include a huge box of LEGO Duplos, a large story book with 10 accompanying sets of Duplos, and two Duplo readers.

 

The contest was sponsored by the LEGO company and by the Association for Library Service to Children and the prize is valued at around $500. Some of the Duplos we won will be available in the play area of the Children's Library; others will be used during our scheduled story times.
