Just as the title would suggest, this book delves into the relationship between us and everything around us. Basically, we are composed of star stuff. Shubin discusses how the atomic structures of our anatomy have been shaped by the big bang and other geological events throughout the earth's history. This is a fascinating account of who we are and how we came to be.
APPEAL: You don't have to be a scientist to understand this book. Anyone who has ever wondered how mankind fits into the grand scheme of things will be captivated.
