In May of 1943, a U.S. bomber crashed into the Pacific and disappeared, leaving a wash of debris, oil, gas, and blood. The bombardier, a young lieutenant, and the pilot struggled into a life raft. They travelled 2000 miles only to land in a series of Japanese prison camps. This journey is one of the most extraordinary chapters of WWII.
