Addison Public Library - Teens

Live Homework Help links you to Tutor.com. This web site is free to you through the library. It connects you with a live, human tutor. The tutors at Tutor.com are professionally trained to help with a number of subjects (math, science, social studies, and English). They are available from 3 to 10 p.m. every day.

There are computers, Internet and word processing available at the Library. See what is available by clicking here.

The Addison Public Library also pays for access to databases that you can use to do your homework. You can access these at the Library or from home if you have a library card.
Click here to link to the databases
then scroll down to "Teen Resources."

Being able to learn subjects at your own pace is valuable and effective. Not everyone can pick up Algebra in a 45 minute class, or remember all of the details of history in those big text books. There are good - very good - video tutorials available online for FREE! These videos get used by kids, teachers, teens, college students, and adults. Follow this link to the top two, Khan Academy and YouTube Education: http://www.delicious.com/AddisonPublicLibrary/education

For somewhere to start researching a topic on the Internet, look at Librarians' Internet Index. The LII has created a huge collection of links, organized by subject, to quality sites on the Internet.
