Five Addison Public Library Staff Members Win 2024 ILA Awards

The Addison Public Library is thrilled to announce that five of our outstanding staff members have been honored as recipients of four 2024 Illinois Library Association (ILA) Awards. These prestigious awards recognize their exceptional contributions to library services and programs. Join us in celebrating their achievements and learn more about their impactful work.

The awards will be presented at an awards ceremony during the 2024 Illinois Library Association Annual Conference. The conference will take place October 8-10, 2024, in Peoria, Illinois.


Innovative Programs and Services Award

Ana Beltran, Adult Services Assistant
Elizabeth Freebairn, Adult Services Specialist

Ana and Elizabeth are the recipients of the 2024 Illinois Library Association (ILA) Innovative Programs and Services Award for their outstanding work on the library’s ELL Books & Bites Book Club. The award recognizes an individual, group, department, or library that has planned or presented specialized or innovative programs or services.

 

TBS, Inc. Technical Services Award

Jenny Cuevas, Head of Materials Management

Jenny  is the recipient of the 2024 Illinois Library Association TBS, Inc. Technical Services Award. This annual award, presented by the ILA Resources and Technical Services Forum and sponsored by Today’s Business Solutions, Inc. (TBS), is awarded to an individual who has made a substantial contribution in the area of library technical services, principally with a commitment to leadership, programming, and professional development in the technical services field.

 

Young Adult Library Professional of the Year Award

Courtney Moore, Teen Services Specialist

Courtney is the 2024 recipient of the Illinois Library Association (ILA) Young Adult Library Professional of the Year Award. This award, presented by ILA and the Young Adult Services Forum, recognizes an Illinois young adult library professional who is making an outstanding contribution to library services to young adults in their community and beyond by creating and implementing library programs and services that identify and meet the needs of the teens in their community.

 

Youth Services Achievement Award

Debbie Sanchez, Children's Services Assistant

Debbie is the 2024 recipient of the 2024 Youth Services Achievement Award. This annual award is presented by the ILA Youth Services Forum and Brainfuse to a non-degreed (MLIS) individual working in the Youth Services Department for outstanding local contributions to library services to young people. Individuals nominated for the award must have created and implemented library programs, services, and/or initiatives in the community they serve that promote a love of learning. The award recipient must have positively impacted the lives of children.
