Low cost, legal services available in English and Spanish to residents of Cook and DuPage Counties based on ability to pay. Services include: adoption, bankruptcy, child custody, divorces, guardianship, landlord-tenant, real estate, wills and probate, worker’s compensation, and limited immigration help.

Affordable legal services provided by independent lawyers in a variety of areas such as family law, landlord/tenant, estate law, consumer law, employment law, criminal misdemeanors and traffic tickets, and real property law. Small business help available for business formation, contracts and intellectual property issues. Limited immigration assistance.

Legal Information Reference Center

Offers the everyday user the necessary tools and detailed “how-to” instructions to independently address a wide-range of legal issues including business law, financial planning, family law, property & real estate and rights & disputes.

Points of View Reference Center

Covering almost 400 topics, each has an overview, background, description and argument and counter-argument on current topics. Also included for each topic is a Guide to Critical Analysis for help in evaluating controversial subjects and opposing viewpoints.

Prairie State Legal Services

Free legal services for low-income persons and those age 60 and over on a variety of topics such as  loss of veteran’s benefits or SNAP (food stamps), domestic violence, evictions, and foreclosures; loss or denial of subsidized housing benefits, utility services, medical or nursing home care.
