One of the big questions for summer is: What are you going to do? Well, I suggest you check out an amazing online resource called ScienceFlix, which you can use to learn about all things science. ScienceFlix covers areas of science from the animal kingdom to outer space, and each topic includes a short video, articles, and activities so you can really dive into what you want to learn.
I like to start in the “Watch It!” area to watch a short, fun video overview of the science subject I want to explore. Then, I explore the “Read It!” area to read articles full of facts. I love that ScienceFlix includes a “Look up a Word” tab so that if you find a word you don’t know while you read, ScienceFlix will teach you the word!
My favorite parts of ScienceFlix, though, are the “Science Lab” and “Experiments” areas. I love doing science experiments because they are fun and I always learn something new that I might not have known before.
In “Careers,” you can learn about the many different careers in science. If you find a topic that you really like to learn about, you can look at the careers section to see if this is something that you might want to be when you grow up and learn all the ways you can get involved in the field when you grow up.
No matter where you start, ScienceFlix is a great database that aspiring scientists will love. Not only will you keep your brain active this summer, but you’ll also learn about amazing science and have fun along the way. This summer, I challenge you to give ScienceFlix a look and see what you find!
