Tuesday, April 4 is Consolidated Election Day in Illinois and your vote is your voice!

The Library Board of Trustees Candidate Forum took place on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at the Addison Public Library. The forum was moderated by Missy Mouritsen, a professor of political science at the College of DuPage. Watch a recording of the candidate forum below, or on our YouTube channel.

All candidates were invited to attend the candidate forum. Maria Sinkule and Ellen Marie Finizio participated. Ruben Robles was unable to attend due to work. Information provided by Ruben is listed below.

Christopher Pudelek provided the following statement in response to the forum invitation. "With regard to the upcoming election, I have teamed up with Sophia Neri and Donna Reboletti in our campaign efforts. I believe it is our general consensus that we forgo the candidate forum, believing our efforts will be best spent with door-to-door canvassing and relying on our combined networks of friends and family here in Addison."

Information provided by Ruben Robles:

How many years have you lived in Addison?
35+ years

What is your education level?
College bachelor's degree and associate's degree.

What is your occupation?
Nurse

Please list any community service you've done.
Habitat for Humanity, Amnesty International, homeless shelters, food drives, food bank, big brother.

Please list any board-level experience you have.
Going on 2 years as a library board trustee and was on the Board for HFH in college.

What qualifications, experiences, etc. do you have that makes you a good candidate?
That I am just a regular guy who has not just lived in Addison the majority of my life but I went to school here in Addison from elementary to high school. I have also worked in Addison from the old KFC while in high school to NEDSRA while in college and later as a school nurse in ASD 4. More importantly, going to the older library to finish assignments from elementary through college, to then going to the new library during college and nursing school. What I am trying to say is that having lived here, worked here, and been a long-time library patron, what better experience to help assist the future of the library.

Why are you running for a Board of Trustees seat?
It is a way to give back to the community, using any skills/experience I have in hopes of keeping the library an awesome place (as it has always been and continues to be).
