As part of our Strategic Plan, one of our key priorities is to share our story with you. To see how well we're doing and how we're helping our community, we collect and study data and numbers that show our impact. These numbers help us measure our success and ensure we’re meeting the needs of our community.
Did you know that on our website, under About > Our Story > Budgets and Reports, you can explore our annual reports, budget details, and monthly library usage reports? Monthly library statistics are also included in the board agenda for each month’s meeting, which can be found on our website at addisonlibrary.org/board.
Here are some highlights from our December 2024 report:
- Community Engagement:
- Over 80% of active library cardholders said they’re very likely to recommend our library to others.
- 42% of Addison residents hold library cards, connecting them to valuable resources and services.
- Usage Statistics:
- The library logged 11,226 visits in December.
- Our study and meeting rooms were reserved 663 times.
- We issued 60 new library cards, bringing the total to 1,023 new cards this fiscal year.
- Programs & Outreach:
- Patrons checked out 22,047 items across physical and digital collections in December.
- We participated in more outreach events this December compared to the same time last year!
