Picture this: you’re lying on the sofa or leaning back on your recliner, and you’d love for a novel to take you away to a distant (or future) time or place, but you can’t figure out what to read next. Well, a quick visit to our Adult Services page will get you started. Whether you want a romance novel, thriller, literary award winner, horror book, cozy mystery, Sci-Fi novel or an epic fantasy, we’ve collected the best reviewed and best loved novels available via a few simple lists on our website.

Our staff has pulled together a growing list of favorites called Staff Picks. You’ll find dazzling novels and thought-provoking non-fiction, both new and old, along with some hidden gems. Or perhaps you’re looking for the next novel by your favorite author. If so, please check out our Coming Soon section. If any of these books look interesting, be sure to place them on hold! Once they become available, we’ll send you an email letting you know they’re ready to pick up. We also have a list of Book Discussion recommendations, some of which are critical darlings that have somehow eluded the bestseller lists. We’re so confident you’ll find something you like in this section, that we have multiple copies of each title, so you’re almost guaranteed to get a copy no matter when you drop by.

In addition to these lists, whether you’re looking for stories or real-world skills, information, etc., we offer a group of topics on our website homepage. At the beginning and middle of each month, we update these lists to give you hot topics that are affecting American life. Whether we’re celebrating the new year and highlighting materials to help you become the best new you or nearing the summer and place the spotlight on camping or weekend getaways, we always freshen up these lists to help you learn something new or give you different perspectives to consider.

So, if you’re looking for something specific or just need a few suggestions, we are here to help! You can browse for books on our website and in our online catalog, ask for help when you visit the library, or chat with us online.
