At the board meeting on Tues., Dec. 17, 2024, Fred Marano from FQC presented the results of the public bidding process for the library’s renovation project. After evaluating 17 bid packages—including demolition, structural steel, plumbing, HVAC, and more—the Board voted unanimously to accept FQC's recommendation and award contracts to each of the identified lowest responsible bidders. All combined, the bids came in $375,180 under the budget that the board approved in August 2024.
Tiffany Nash from Product Architecture presented furniture bids, which the Board also unanimously approved, totaling $863,097.26.
Finally, the Board approved the selection of bibliotheca’s flex AMH 9-bin system for our new automated materials handler, which will be installed for $212,016.37 and the fee for removing the existing AMH in the amount of $3,842.45. This, too, was under budget.
