I want to learn everything! I have always loved other languages ever since I was learning to read and discovered Spanish for the first time. If your little one is like me, they might enjoy learning a new language. A great way for kids to do this, as well as practice a language they already know, is with the online resource Muzzy Club.

I love learning about other cultures and people with different life experiences than mine. Let me tell you about a few titles highlighting diverse characters that I highly recommend:

We all have things we like to do in our free time. One of my favorite things to do is to eat and one of my favorite things to eat is a homecooked meal. This makes things a little harder as I am the one that has to cook it and I am not a master chef. Something that has really helped me is the cookbooks that we have at the library.

I love to learn about different countries. The differences in cultures, languages, and food are amazing to me. It’s always fun to see the world from a different point of view that I can’t get from everyday life!

One of the latest books on display at the Addison Public Library is the work of Addison resident Yusuf Keshavarzi, whose book Darkwood: Black Jaguar tells the story of a talented 13 year old boy in Toronto who gets recruited to work for the Canadian Security Intelligence Service and in doing so, uncovers an evil plot. At just 13 years old himself, Keshavarzi has already demonstrated his talent as an author.
