Spanish Speakers Learning to Read and Write in Spanish at the Library

In the library’s current strategic plan, one of our strategic focuses is to make the library a place that leads, reflects, and supports our diverse community. An update on Thursday's threat of violence

The Addison Public Library is open today, Friday, September 15, 2023, after a second threat of violence this week prompted an emergency evacuation. Both threats this week were determined to be unfounded by law enforcement, and all patrons, staff, and community members are safe.

Update for Emergency Closing on September 12, 2023

The Addison Public Library was temporarily closed on September 12, 2023, due to a bomb threat received via our chat service around 2:00 p.m. Thank you to the extensive efforts and immediate response of the Addison Police Department and the DuPage County Bomb Squad, the library has since reopened and is safe for all to return.
